Who we help

People who have experienced a life-crisis often find themselves in situations that seem too difficult to resolve. When provided with the opportunity to step back for a moment in time from life and go sailing, they can experience the healing wonder of our planet’s seas and oceans; coupled with advice, support, and above all compassion and empathy, people can begin to find their way back to wellness, getting their lives back in balance.

Our aim is for each member of the crew to return ashore with a positive view of their future, with support to enable them to make changes to their direction in life that energises them to make those forgotten dreams come true.

A leading Mental Health Foundation says

“In the UK, one in six adults and one in eight 5-19 year-olds meet the criteria for a common mental health problem every week. Suicide is the leading killer of men and women between the ages of 15-35. Fewer than one in eight adults say they are thriving. Mental health problems are the biggest contributor to ill-health.”

Sailing adventures have been @ Anchor for a while, but as COVID -19 restrictions begin to be lifted, we will need a hand to get things running! If you would like to volunteer to help us fundraise or promote awareness of our work please get in contact

The promotion of mental health and the benefits of physical outdoor activities has remained at the heart of the government’s message to our communities during the lockdown. Therefore, we are proud to now be taking opportunities to a new level by offering subsidised sailing adventures for people in crisis to look forward to.

We are hopeful that sailing waters will open shortly and group activities will soon be on the horizon, we are starting to plan our summer season of sailing adventures kicking off with the Solent Adventure.

However participants arrive at our door our aim is to provide them with a life changing experiences. To enable us to deliver sailing experiences, we work with sailing providers and support organisations around the country. Together our aim is to return participants to land energised to make changes in their lives for the better.

Our new appeal aims to raise £10,000 to enable those affected by Covid-19 to join the crew of CraigSailing on a trip of a lifetime!
